On Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th July, Bejo Australia attended the National Horticultural and Innovation Expo. This was held in Gatton, Queensland, and it generated a lot of interest since the last one was held in the year 2000. The event was well attended by local and interstate growers, and gave a chance to showcase our varieties to a new audience.
Of particular interest were some of our newer varieties, like celery Jive, which is being trialled throughout Australia plus cabbages Alegria and Passat, which are looking promising for the Australian market too. There was a lot of interest in the Chinese cabbages Suzuko and Bazuko, which stood out due to their appealing shape and internal colour, plus their exceptional weight in autumn/winter harvests.
The event was a great opportunity for the whole team to spend time with growers, and help gain industry knowledge and understanding so we are better able to provide varietal solutions in the future.
