Our vegetable seeds are getting a new look thanks to a redesign of the company’s entire packaging range. “The new design aligns better with the look and feel of Bejo’s brand identity, with a high-quality, modern style that does justice to our products,” says Sales & Marketing Director Martin van der Voort. The first seeds are being put into the new packaging this month; the full transition could take up to two years.

While we’re at it, we’re also saying farewell to our block bottom packaging line. This packaging type hasn’t always proven strong enough in the past. So we’re replacing our block bottom bags with so-called pillow bags, whose sturdiness is proven. Bejo already uses them for its organic range.

Our packaging will still be made of the same materials for the time being. “The quality of our packaging is crucial for preserving the seeds’ germination capacity, ”Martin van der Voort says, “and we’re very satisfied with our current choices. We’ve started researching new packaging materials, however, with an eye to sustainability and biodegradability. A lot of interesting things are happening in this area at the moment, and we’re running projects that will require extensive further testing.”

A few fun figures

In its assortment Bejo boasts more than 1,000 varieties for conventional cultivation and more than 170 varieties for organic cultivation. With numerous packaging types, product types and language groups, that means around 100,000 different package-items. They make their way to thousands of vegetable growers in more than 100 countries around the world.
